India Post has released the recruitment notification for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS). Eligible and interested candidates can apply online from 15th July to 05th August 2024 on the official website indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The application can be edited from 06 to 08 August 2024. These posts will be filled for Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak.
A total of 44228 vacancies have been notified across the country in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, North-East, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
This is a golden opportunity for candidates who are 10th pass and want a government job. Candidates should be between 18 to 40 years of age. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in class 10th.

Eligibility
Educational Qualification: Passing certificate of class 10th secondary school examination with Mathematics and English from any recognized education board.
Knowledge of local language: Candidate must have studied the local language up to class 10th from a recognized board.

Selection will be done on the basis of system-generated merit list. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of conversion of marks/grades/marks obtained in 10th class secondary school examination into marks. For candidates whose 10th class mark sheet mentions marks of each subject or both marks and grades/marks, their total marks will be calculated by considering the ‘obtained marks’.
